The King's School
The King’s School is now in its third year and 170 children attend. We work with a private college in Guatemala City and are able through them to provide certificates and diplomas for the children who study with us. The standard of the education is very high and stretches the children, encourages them to think and work independently. We have deliberately chosen this education for the children, as it is a means of providing a way out of their poverty in the future.
The education is Christian and teaches good principles throughout. To enter First Grade of the programme though, the children have to be able to read and write well. This we teach in the Pre-School where the children learn these basic skills through the Spanish equivalent to the ‘Letterland’ scheme.
Education has to be paid for here in Guatemala. Our education is free for all. The school is a happy place and many parents are impressed by the children’s progress and general welfare.

This is the most expensive part of the work as it requires many resources and several teaching staff. For just 15 pounds a month you could change the future of one of the children on this programme.
